  • CAMP DIRECTOR: MARINE CANO - "Mr. Soccer"
    Marine Cano, a NSCAA National Advanced Licensed and USSF "A" licensed coach, has directed soccer camps and clinics since 1981 and owned his own camps since 1984. Coach Cano is currently the Founding Director of Soccer at SOKA University of America. For the span from 1993-2005 Coach Cano was Director of Soccer and Head Woman's Coach at the University of California, Irvine. After only two seasons as Head Coach, Marine led the UCI Women to a first ever, top 20 National ranking within NCAA Division I Soccer, and in 2005 was named as among the “Top 20 Winningest Coaches in NCAA Women’s Soccer History”. From 1984-93, Cano was Head Coach for California State University Dominguez Hills Men's and Women's Soccer Teams. In 1991 he led the women to the NCAA Division II National Championship Title. Since 1984, with an overall record of 127-53-12, he has led them to the Final Four in '89 and to four top 10 National rankings. Cano was selected as Western Regional Coach of the Year in 1986, 1989, and CCAA Coach of the Year in 1992. Since 1982, Cano has been the Head Coach of the California Youth Soccer Associations South Olympic Development Program Girl's Under-19 Team and was named 1992 ODP Region IV Coach of the Year. He is also current staff coach of the Girl's Western Region ODP and has severed on the Boys Western Regional staff. In 1996 Cano founded the South Bay Force, a club soccer program. Coach Cano's playing experience includes nine seasons as a professional player with the A.S.L., N.A.S.L., M.I.S.L., W.S.L., and the A.P.S.L. he was also a member of the 1976 United States National Team. Cano has coached every level of player, AYSO boys and girls, Club boys and girls, high school boys and girls, college men and women - Div. I & Div. II , and professional men.
